Please can you advise the best way to keep Baize upholstery clean? Does it have to be dry cleaned?

Our baize has a high wool content, and wool has an array of amazing properties. It’s naturally dirt-resistant, anti-microbial and anti-static, so it doesn’t attract dirt, dust or lint. Additionally, it’s very hard-wearing, making it an ideal upholstery fabric.
But let’s get into the specifics of keeping it clean.
Any spilled water and water-based liquids will sit on the surface in little droplets, before being slowly absorbed. So we recommend mopping up liquid spillage as quickly as possible to prevent it soaking in. For day-to-day maintenance, brushing is a good option, and we stock a range of brushes for this purpose. Specifically, we stock crumb sweeping sets for clearing up after food, lint brushes for removing pet hairs if your cat has taken a nap on the fabric, and clothes brushes for keeping the upholstery clean. The brushes we stock have been carefully selected as being best suited to the fabrics we stock. They are top quality handmade brushes with natural bristles that will keep the fabric clean without causing damage.
If the upholstery gets very dirty, beyond the scope of brushes, then it will need to be more thoroughly cleaned. For this, we recommend dry cleaning.
