Trim Lizzie a traditional upholsterer came to us to buy baize to cover two doors for different clients.
Baize for Covering Doors
Using baize to cover doors is a traditional method of sound proofing and acoustic dampening. The baize also provides a luxurious feel as an interior design accent to any room.
Lizzie Paton aka Trim Lizzie is first and foremost a traditional upholsterer, but she specialises in custom vehicle and boat upholstery and repairs. She was recently approached to cover two doors in baize. She chose both fabrics from the Extra Wide range, which gives a wide range of colours and has a distinct nap on one side which makes it a “faced” fabric.
She then added complimentary brass stud work to hold the baize in place and to add additional detailing that gives the doors an added feeling of grandeur.
The results speak for themselves.
