Light Grey Marble Melange Lightweight Melton cloth is a traditional cloth, made of wool and woven in a twill pattern. This fabric has a beautiful flecked variation in colour. Used traditionally as an under collar trim on victorian great coats. With its lively flecked nature, this fabric lends itself to so much more. It has a lot to offer both fashion and interior designers.

Melton cloth is typically thick with a felt-like smooth surface. This lightweight variation provides a versatile alternative for fashion and interior designers. Unlike other twill weave cloth, the pattern is hidden, which arises from the finishing processes used. Because of its dense, quasi-felted texture, it frays minimally or not at all. Furthermore, the 70% merino wool used in this fabric, means that it is both hardwearing and warm.

Made from 70% merino wool, provides natural warmth in clothing and soundproofing for interiors.

Colour Variations of Woollen Fabrics

This 70% merino wool fabric is a natural material and colour variation is evidence of the natural origin of the material. Therefore the product colour is only indicative, as it is not possible to assure consistency of colour in a natural product due to the natural colour of raw wool and absorption of dyes. Colour matching cannot be guaranteed on shipments. The variation will be more pronounced beyond the normal commercial range.
